Zero Gravity Kitchen

Six months ago today, Scout was locked up in her pen (I say pen, I mean 200 sq ft indoor-outdoor "condo", so don't feel sorry for her. And it was September - not February. And it was a glorious sunny day. And she had food, water, treats, classical music...).

Anyway, so there she was, wondering what the heck that freight train was that hit her at 5am, and we were in the hospital. Cameron had decided he'd seen enough of the inside of mum and wanted out! And now it's March and the boy is 6 months old! Like, where did that go?!

He still burps and farts, but now he smiles, giggles and is very close to rolling over - mum clearly a little frustrated that the cutest kid in class has yet to pull off that trick, despite his competitors all mastering it. That said, he has really taken to the zero gravity kitchen...

Growing Fast

Once upon a time I promised this wasn't going to become a puppy blog. I feel like I need to make the same commitment about it not becoming a baby blog,... but it's hard for it not to. "Oh, how he's changed!" declare the oldies. Too cute for words... but still just burps, farts, eats, poops and sleeps. But don't we all?

Snap Happy?

People ask us - "Are you taking hundreds of photos?"
In a word, no. Maybe it's just me, but he's only a little chap, doesn't do much other than eat, sleep, poop, burp and fart. Many of those things don't make for a great Kodak Moment. However, in the interests of keeping the Grandmothers happy, here is a small selection from the past couple of weeks. Besides, he is pretty bloody cute. You'll see, baby's first bath was a rather traumatic experience!

Introducing Cameron Lamont Justice

Well, I'm back and this time I've brought a friend. Introducing Cameron Lamont Justice, born Wednesday September 3rd @ 8.08pm, weighing 7lbs 3oz. Perfect in every way. The little guy even scored a 10/10 on his 5min APGAR, and they "never give 10s".

Gone Fishin'

It's been a while, but whaddayaknow - I start blogging just months before Facebook explodes... so that's where I am now - FB. After all, wearing my "Instructional Technologist" hat I would argue of course that a Facebook profile is a blog. So for now, for my needs at least, this seems a little redundant.* See you on FB!

*Not that I'm suggesting the death of traditional blogs, or necessarily this blog. Once the FB bubble bursts..... well, we'll see.

Home sweet home

This isn't going to turn into a puppy blog, honest, (well, fingers crossed it won't), but we finally brought Scout home on Friday night, which is very worthy of a post. Besides, people have asked for more photos, so here are more photos...

The ride home in the car (3 hrs on and off) was a huge success. No puke, no pee, no poo. Couldn't ask for more. Scout was good too ;)

She turned 10 weeks old on Saturday (16th) and weighed in with the vet last night at 12.5lbs (which must be at least twice the size she was, when we visited her three weeks ago). She's settled in really well, is clearly very smart and fast too (almost as quick as me, and boy am I quick!) and just darn cute!

She's been fascinated with the construction of her pen, sitting close by for the last three days while I put up the cedar frame (granted, she had no choice, she was leashed to the ground stake). I'm sure she recognises what it is - after all, she spent the first 10 weeks of her life in one similar. Hopefully she'll take to this one - it is after all quite the palace!
